As many visitors to my travel websites will know I try to include places that the average traveller wouldn't think to visit

I recently read about Szczecin when they hosted the 2007 Tall Ships Race - I looked at it on the internet and decided that I would go there and take photographs.

IIt is not a large city but it has great charm - The people are very friendly and there is plenty to see and do

For those who enjoy history and fine architecture Szczecin has some wonderful French and Italian buildings which thankfully survived the heavy bombing during the second world war

For those who enjoy a lively nightlife Szczecin has a lot to offer and is already the destination of choice for 'Stag Weekends' for groups from Denmark and Germany

For those (like me) who love eating and trying new dishes then Szczecin is food heaven - but be warned - Once you have tasted some of the Polish soups you might never want to leave - I am addicted already

It is easy to get there from the UK as Ryan Air operate regular flights there from Stansted

It is also very near to Berlin and the beautiful Baltic Sea so a two or even three centre stay is another possibility

I flew from Heathrow to Berlin where I caught the regular shuttle bus which operated between all the Berlin Airports and the centre of Szczecin

I am so pleased that I made the effort to visit this delightful city and will certainly return there again soon
